Each Season requires an adjustment period

Each season of life requires an adjustment period. When something is new, it takes time to grow into it just like breaking in a new pair of shoes or learning your way around a new phone. You don’t get it perfect right away. You play around, test a few things, and slowly it starts to feel natural.

Right now, my season is full of new. I am a new entrepreneur and a mom stepping into the middle school years with my daughter. And let me tell you both come with their challenges.

This morning, for example, I found myself frustrated because my daughter forgot her laptop for school. My first instinct was to fuss after all, the laptop is a huge part of her learning. Without it, how would she get her classwork done? Before I even stopped to think, I jumped in my car and rushed it to the school.

But as I sat here later reflecting, I realized something she never even texted or called me. Could it be that she figured something out? Maybe she borrowed a loaner or came up with another solution. That thought hit me I didn’t give her the chance to navigate the situation on her own.

This season is new for both of us. Just as I’m learning to balance entrepreneurship and motherhood, she’s learning responsibility, independence, and what it means to manage her own things. And sometimes, as moms, we have to step back and allow our children to make mistakes. It’s the only way they’ll learn how to problem-solve and grow stronger.

The truth is, this lesson applies to so many parts of our lives. We won’t get everything right on the first try. We’ll stumble, forget things, and maybe even fail but with time, we adjust. With each slip-up comes wisdom. With each new beginning comes growth.

So here’s my gentle reminder for you and for me:

❤️Give yourself grace in your new season.

❤️Be patient as you learn your new normal.

❤️Allow mistakes to happen for yourself and for others.

Because every choice we make comes with consequences, whether good or bad. And the only way to learn how to handle those consequences is by living through them.

Keep growing. Keep flowing.

Happy Self-Loving 🪷

With love,

B
